EXPERIMENTAL CAPABILITIES

• Performance, cavitation and erosion tests of the propeller in uniform/non-uniform flow (in open water and behind the ship)
• Performance and cavitation tests of contra-rotating propeller systems
• Pressure measurements in ship model hull
• Force and moment measurements for underwater forms such as torpedoes and submarines
• Hydroacoustic measurements and spectrum analysis with acoustic room and hydrophone system
• Detailed flow visualisation, wake and boundary layer measurements with laser-based velocity measurement devices (LDA, PIV)
• Boundary layer and resistance tests for flat plates and submerged bodies
• Performance measurements for drag reducing surface coating, antifouling paint and similar applications
• Specialized underwater flow tests and noise measurements are conducted within the limitation of the facilities, with experimental studies extending beyond above list.
